About

The History of Jeannie Remy and Life Skills Publishing

In 2013, I hit rock bottom. My life was in shambles. My teenage daughter had run away from home, and my marriage was torn apart from abandonment issues, extra marital affairs, and the delusion that someone or something better was waiting for me-out there somewhere.

Struggling with severe depression, health problems, emotional trauma, and a lack of meaningful identity that followed me from childhood, I came to the end of my rope. With nowhere else to turn, I found the healing love of Jesus Christ, who I made my Lord and Savior.

God helped me face the truths and lies in myself which helped me through the personal changes needed to restore myself and my family. From the very beginning of my healing and spiritual maturation, I quickly realized that God was not only calling me to identify, repent, and turn from my sinful ways that had ruined my life, but to help other women do the same.

It began with journaling my story. Writing the truth about myself through God’s eyes allowed me to finally face the problems that were keeping me from being the wife and mother I had always dreamed of being. It took a leap of faith to not only expose these truths to myself, but to open my story to others. It is my experience that journaling is an excellent resource for women to self-reflect and compare their lives to biblical womanhood. The essence of journaling is seeking to apply the Word of God to one’s life. Seeing our own life, and our choices and actions in black and white helps us to discover what we need to change to grow closer to God.

If you are adverse to writing, don’t worry. I had no experience in writing and very little education to even construct a paragraph that was understandable to anyone other than myself. Despite this, I was motivated by the Holy Spirit to convey a message that God wanted. I believe that He wants you to convey your unique message as well. Whether you are a seasoned writer, or have little to no experience as I once did, the important first step is to just start writing. Take notes, outline, or simply jot down your experiences with God and how He is asking you to change your life. Let the Holy Spirit guide you in which areas of your life that need to be worked on. Record your problems, struggles, revelations, changes and spiritual growth as you journey with God.

We all have a story to tell. If you are like me, writing will help you to become more honest before God and with yourself. It will help you to connect with the Holy Spirit and witness Him working in you. I believe that journaling your walk with Christ not only assists your personal healing and growth with Him, but opens the possibilities of sharing your story to inspire others to do the same.
